How Happy Toy Scout works
Happy Toy Scout is a free, independent, community-powered tracker for recent Happy Meal toy sightings at McDonald’s locations in the United States.
What the reports mean
A report records what a community member received or confirmed at a specific store and hour. It may include one or more toy numbers, a sold-out observation, and optional store-policy answers about choosing, swapping, or buying a toy separately.
Freshness and display
Reports are stored with a UTC timestamp and displayed in the visitor’s device time zone. The live tracker prioritizes recent reports and shows the newest first. A report is a historical observation, not a promise that the same toys are still available.
How corrections work
Availability changes are corrected by newer community reports at the same store. The store panel keeps recent observations in time order so collectors can compare updates rather than treating an older report as current inventory.
Location and privacy
Browser location permission is optional and is used to center the map around the visitor. A community report is tied to the selected McDonald’s store, not the visitor’s personal location, name, or account.
Accuracy limits
Happy Toy Scout does not receive official McDonald’s inventory data. Stores may sell out, restock, change policies, or distribute a different toy after any report. Call the store before making a special trip when availability matters.
